 The Plot
« Thread Started on Jun 2, 2008, 11:28pm »

At the beginning of the 15th century, suspicions of dealings of the dark were whispered in every village, discussed in every dank tavern and inn, and weaved it’s dark path into every heart. Tales of witch hunts across the countryside struck terror in every man, woman, and child. Who would be next? Would it be them? No one was safe. The magical community feared for their lives and the lives of their children. Hushed words came to them, warning them against revealing themselves to muggles. Even friends could not be trusted in this dark time.

After an mob attack on a wizarding village, four young witches and wizards came together. They were Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. The four were friends, having grown up side-by-side learning magic together. Though they were young, they saved as many as they could from the attack and found a safe fortress for them to stay and to act as a haven for all those witches and wizards in need. It was at this fortress, a large sprawling castle way out on the moors, that the four finally came together and formed and idea. An idea to protect and train the future generations of the magical community. A school.

And so, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was formed. Like anything, it started out small. Each of the four teaching all that they could teach to whoever wanted to learn. Soon the threat of the witch hunts died down, though not completely away, and more wizarding families emerged bringing their children to the school. As it grew, and the suspicions seemingly disappeared, so did the issue of who should actually be in charge of the school and who they should actually teach. Helga thought it should be any child of magical blood who came to their doors, Rowena thought only the most intelligent, Godric only those of most courage, and Salazar those only of the purest of magical blood.

This issue divided the four, and the school was split into for groups that came to be known as the Hogwarts Houses. Salazar, Godric, and Rowena took the students who they thought had the most of what each of them wanted and Helga took whoever was left. Their friendship was never the same, each had begun to look at his or her own interest first instead of the school as a whole. They failed to see that the darkness they had once feared so much was rising again.

But there was yet another question keeping the four from uniting. Why had Salazar insisted on such a thing a purity of blood? Something that a child could not control and therefore should not be held against him or her? They say it is because Salazar Slytherin had an extreme hatred for muggles that he could not abide anyone with their blood. But why? Perhaps it has something to with a secret hidden in his family. The fact that Salazar was not an only child as everyone supposed.

There was another child born, a son and a bastard, from a muggle woman around the same time as Salazar’s own birth. The child was never told of his origins, or so they thought. The child, indeed, knew every horrid little detail his mother could give him about where he’d come from. Eventually, he grew into a man—a God fearing, minister was he. He has made it his life’s mission to root out every witch and wizard in England. Now, with an uprising of terrified muggles and men with the same goal as he, Solarius Darren is out for blood.

It is 1425 and with the four leaders divided, will they be strong enough to ward off this new threat?
